Greene UPK Parent Information Night Scheduled for May 23!


For parents of incoming UPK students for the 2023-2024 school year, we’ve organized a special information night just for you!

Mark your calendars—The event is scheduled for Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 6 - 7 p.m. at the Greene Primary School UPK Classrooms & Art Room.

We’ll be meeting, greeting and gathering important information regarding your preschooler’s entry into UPK from classroom teachers, school nurse, and transportation staff. We look forward to meeting you! Please note that this event is for parents-only, we will host a student meet-and-greet at a later date!

GREENE READY4K Kindergarten Summer Program

GREENE READY4K Kindergarten Summer Program


July 18th-21st (T-Fr) & July 24th - 27th (M-Th) 8:45-11:45 a.m. at the Greene Primary School


Program Description:

The Greene READY4K experience will enable all incoming kindergarten students to participate in a half-day structured program. Each day, students will have an opportunity to explore and practice social skills, life skills, motor skills and language skills with experienced, certified teachers. At the end of the program, students will have experienced breakfast, Morning Program, the playground, riding a bus, art, sharing, reading, writing, math and much more.

Getting familiar with the Primary building and teaching staff will help all students feel at ease at the beginning of school in September.


ACTIVITIES:


Students will participate in developmentally appropriate activities daily. These include morning arrival check in, breakfast, Morning Program, story time, arts/crafts, music, free exploration,

playground, snack, pack up and dismissal. These introductory kindergarten activities will prepare our students for the upcoming school year.


STAFF:

Greene Primary School teachers will be leading the GREENE READY4K program. In addition to kindergarten teachers, other certified teachers will provide instruction during this program. Each classroom will have two certified teachers each day. A school nurse will be available (she will be housed at the high school with JRC but accessible to us).


TRANSPORTATION:

Students are welcome to ride the GCS school bus that will transport students to the JRC summer program. Bus routes will be posted online for parents/guardians to review. Students may also be dropped off and/or picked up by parents/guardians in the main entrance loop. Arrival time is 8:45am.


Please walk your child to the door and a teacher will be waiting. Dismissal will be at 11:45am. Parents/guardians may choose to pick up their child in the main entrance loop.


Students will need:

1. Backpack

2. Extra Clothes (Shorts,

Shirt, Underwear)

3. Wear Sneakers

4. Water bottles
