The GCS Reopening Task Force has met, and we are in the process of discussing options for the fall. Since the state won’t have guidance until July 13th at the earliest, we have been reviewing many of the plans from other states. As a first step, we are looking at several different areas, and determining how they could look in each of the three models: remote learning environment, hybrid environment,
or return to school environment. Some areas we have identified include transportation, special education, nutrition, teaching & learning, social emotional needs, athletics/clubs, digital equity & access, health issues, and facilities. Please see the attached letter from Superintendent Calice with things you should consider as we move towards the reopening of schools.
The Greene Middle School staff would like to congratulate
all of the award winners from the 8th grade class!
Additionally, we want to wish all of our 8th
graders good luck as they enter the high school next year and begin the next
phase of their lives!
Did you know that every Boxtop equals a dime? That’s right! When you clip a Boxtop and send it in with your child, our school earns 10 cents.
Here at the middle school we earn several hundred dollars a year through the Boxtop program. In the past, we have used this money to buy every student breakfast on the six days of testing for ELA and math state assessments. Some of the money helps to buy supplies for our Greene Day activities which are part of our character building and anti-bullying program. This year, we hope to continue these activities and add some new student incentives.
