Capital Project Goals

  • No additional tax impact
  • Address building deficiencies identified in 5 year building condition survey
  • Update facilities including nurses' offices, primary school playgrounds, intermediate outdoor play areas, guidance suite, middle school and high school bathrooms, stadium turf, locker rooms, electrical system, and windows.
  • Create a science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics space (STEAM).

Q: What impact will this project have on the local tax share?
A: The District can complete this project with no further impact on the tax levy. 
 
Q. What is building aid?
A: New York State building aid is available for expenditures incurred in voter-approved construction on new buildings, additions, alterations, or modernization of District-owned buildings.
 
Q: How does the proposed capital project affect the District's budgets?
A: None of the three planned capital project votes will result in a tax impact.

Q: What is the anticipated cost of the capital project?
A: The total project cost is estimated at $12,000,000 - with $11,500,000 out of building aid, and $500,000 out of capital reserve.

Public Hearing Information

 The Greene Central School District will hold a public hearing in the Middle School/High School Board Room - the public is welcome to attend and learn more about the project.

 
 

Voter Information

Vote on February 27th, 2024
February 28th is the weather date if the vote is cancelled.
Voting Hours will be between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. in the High School/Middle School Auditorium

 - A U.S. Citizen
- At least 18 years old
- A district resident for at least 30 days preceding the date of the vote
