GCS Principal Search Underway

The Greene Central School District is seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to serve as its next High School Principal.  Greene High School services approximately 300 students in grades 9-12. The District is very proud of its academic performance, high graduation rates, the multiple educational opportunities it provides.  The candidate should demonstrate strong leadership skills, highly successful classroom experience, knowledge of curriculum and effective instructional practices. The district is looking for visionary leader who can facilitate and collaborate a progressive educational vision and who possesses the ability to build consensus with staff, students, and parents.

This 12-month position will support the district's mission, core values, and strategic objectives while leading the High School.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold, or be eligible for, New York State SAS, SDA or SBL certification.

  • Has prior teaching or administrative experience.

  • Have a strong background in teaching and curriculum.

  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills.

  • A vision for continuous school improvement.

  • Perform observations and evaluate members of the faculty and staff.

  • Creates and maintains a welcoming, safe, engaging, and challenging learning and work environment.

  • Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and parents.

  • Experience with implementing schoolwide procedures to reduce unwanted student behavior.
