During a ceremony held the first week of November, several students from each grade received a Student of the Month recognition, and one student from each grade level received the Trojan G.R.I.T. award. Students receiving awards were chosen based on a variety of criteria from their team of teachers. In addition, the 7th Grade Student of the Month ceremony coincided with our bi-annual Board of Education visit.
Board members were able to see the 7th Grade ‘Redemption Island’ kickoff - an embedded support at the end of the marking period, which allows students to access either extra help, or enrichment activities, during the regular school day. Team 7 kicked off the day with a team-building activity in our cafeteria called “The Spaghetti Challenge”. Students were engaged, had fun, and learned about the power of working effectively in teams.
