A Special Election will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for eligible voters to decide who should fill a vacancy on the G.C.S. Board of Education.
The one board seat was previously held by John Fish, who resigned effective June 30, 2023. The term period will begin on October 25, 2023 and will expire on June 30, 2025.
Anyone interested in running for the school board may obtain a petition by contacting the Board Clerk,

[email protected]. Petitions require a minimum of 25 qualified signatures, and must be submitted no later than
Monday, September 25, 2023 by 5:00 p.m.
VOTING QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE OCTOBER 24 SCHOOL BOARD SPECIAL ELECTION
To qualify as a voter within the Greene Central School District, a person must fulfill all the following requirements:
1. Be a citizen of the United States of America.
2. Be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
3. Be a resident within the School District for a period of at least thirty (30) days next preceding the
meeting at which he/she offers to vote.
Please remember to vote on October 24, 2023 between 11:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. in the auditorium lobby of the Middle/High School campus, 40 South Canal Street, Greene, New York.
