Greene CSD Board of Education Virtual BOE Meeting Set for April 1, 2020

The Greene CSD Board of Education will be holding its regularly scheduled board meeting on April, 1, 2020 at 6:00PM. Due to the COVID-19 health emergency, the board meeting will be held with some board members in attendance and others accessing the meeting individually through Zoom.

The district has consulted its attorneys and received guidance from the New York State School Boards Association. It will also be in compliance with Gov. Cuomo’s most recent executive order pertaining to the Open Meetings Law.

The public will be able to follow the proceedings through audio by accessing Zoom via a computer, tablet or phone. In addition, a recording of the meetings will be made available to the public at a later time, along with the minutes from the meeting.

Any executive session periods of the meeting will not be accessible through Zoom, just as those periods would be closed to the public during a regular school board meeting. Although New York State Law does not require that a school board hold a public comment period, even when meetings are held as normal, the Greene CSD Board of Education is committed to transparency and exceeding what is legally required in order to ensure your concerns are heard.

Instead of a traditional public comment period, the board will be taking your public comments at the following email address: [email protected]

Comments received before April 1st at 4:00p.m., will be read into the record so they are an official component of that night’s board meeting.

The public will be able to follow the proceedings through audio by accessing Zoom.  It is recommended that those who wish to listen through a computer or tablet download the Zoom app prior to the meeting. No download is necessary to listen to the meeting by phone.
