Greene Central School – Board Petitions Available

An election will be held on Tuesday, May 21, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for eligible voters to decide who should fill three vacancies on the G.C.S. school board, in addition to voting on the upcoming school budget. 

The three board seats are currently held by Tammie McCauley, Seth Barrows and Jason Burghardt and their terms will expire June 30, 2019.  Once filled, these seats will follow the typical three-year term and will expire June 30, 2022.

Anyone interested in running for the school board may obtain a petition by contacting the Board Clerk, Mrs. Donna Utter, at 656-4161 ext. 219 or the District Office at 656-4161 ext. 214. Petitions require a minimum of 25 qualified signatures, and must be submitted no later than April 22, 2019 by 5:00 p.m.

A public hearing to review the 2019-2020 school budget will be held at 6:00 p.m. on the evening of May 13, 2019 in the auditorium.

VOTING QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE MAY 21 BUDGET REFERENDUM

In order to vote, a person must fulfill all of the following requirements:

1. Be a citizen of the United States.

2. Be at least 18 years of age.                                                                                                

3. Be a resident within the District for a period of at least

    30 days next preceding the meeting at which he/she offers

    to vote.
