Two Exciting Announcements on Supplies and Meals for 2022-23
GCS is continuing to work hard to find ways to support our community and families. We have two exciting announcements to help the families in our district.

School supplies can be very costly for our families.  Due to bulk purchasing through our DCMO BOCES Bid and funding our district has received, we will be able to supply all students in grades Pk-12 with school supplies this year at no cost to parents.  This had been a common practice in other districts, and we are very excited to be able to offer this to our families. The only supplies we ask parents to purchase are a backpack (for younger students big enough to fit a folder), refillable water bottle (NO GLASS please), and sneakers for physical education class.  It is our hope that we can minimize the impact and cost to families across our district.

We are also pleased to announce that GCS applied for, and qualified to participate in, Community Eligibility Provision of the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs. Through this program, all students enrolled at Greene Central School are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each day of the 2022-2023 school year through the 2025-2026 school year. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a free and reduced application.   Only one breakfast and one lunch are available at no charge.  Extras, snacks, ala carte items and milk (purchased separate from a meal) will have to be purchased.  Make sure your child(ren) joins us for breakfast and lunch!
A CEP application will be included in our district newsletter and available online.  We encourage each family to fill it out and return it all soon as possible for other funding options available to our school.
We feel this valuable program will be beneficial to all the children in our district and the community.

We are dedicated to continuing to find ways to support the students and families of GCS!

Sincerely,
GCS Administrative Team
