Voters Approve School Budget; Fish, Barrows, and Pickard Elected to the School Board

Greene CSD is pleased to announce that the Greene CSD community passed the 2022-2023 school budget with a 65.3% approval rating 342 casting votes in favor and 182 opposed. 

Voters approved proposition 2: Establishment of a Capital Reserve Fund with a 70.8% approval rating casting 366 votes in favor and 151 opposed.

On behalf of the Board of Education, administrators, staff, and students, we would like to thank everyone that took the time to vote today. While we have seen challenges, we look forward to continuing our vision to be a model school in providing a flexible and nurturing environment that leverages innovation, collaboration, and a variety of opportunities in all areas so as to support student growth and learning. This budget will provide our students those opportunities and we appreciate the support of our community and will work hard to maintain it. 

 

Board of Education Results

There were seven candidates for three seats on the Board of Education up for election this year, with the seats going to Fish, Barrows and Pickard as the three top vote getters. Here are the vote totals:

  • John Fish - 259
  • Seth Barrow - 243
  • Ken Pickard - 234
  • William (Mitch) Brower - 191 
  • Jeremy Snavely - 189
  • Emily Riggs - 171
  • Shannon Curtis (write-in) - 105
  • Christopher Austin - 102

The three-year terms that they were elected to on will begin on July 1 this year and go through June 30, 2025.
