An election will be held on Tuesday, May 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for eligible voters to decide who should fill two vacancies on the G.C.S. Board of Education, in addition to voting on the upcoming school budget.  
 
The two expiring board seats are currently held by Brian Milk and Scott Youngs. Their terms will expire June 30, 2021.  Once filled, these seats will follow the typical three-year term and will expire June 30, 2024.
 
Anyone interested in running for the school board may obtain a petition by contacting the Board Clerk, Mrs. Theresa Brant, at 656-4161 ext. 214 or by emailing [email protected]. Petitions require a minimum of 25 qualified signatures, and must be submitted no later than April 19, 2021 by 5:00 p.m.
 
A public hearing to review the 2021-22 school budget will be held at 6:00 p.m. on the evening of May 10, 2021 in the auditorium.
 
VOTING QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE MAY 18 BUDGET REFERENDUM
In order to vote, a person must fulfill all of the following requirements:
1. Be a citizen of the United States.
2. Be at least 18 years of age.                                                                                                 
3. Be a resident within the District for a period of at least
    30 days next preceding the meeting at which he/she offers
    to vote.                   
 
Please remember to vote on May 18, 2021 between 11:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. in the auditorium lobby.
