Greene Central School is proudly taking part in New York Thursday, a New York State Farm to School initiative! NY Thursday meals are cooked from scratch in each district’s kitchen using seasonal foods that are grown, harvested and/or produced in state. We will be offering the meals on the third Thursday of every month.
Students will have the opportunity to taste test NY Thursday menu items and vote on whether or not to have it on future menus.
This Farm to School program supports local farms, provides fresh and healthy lunches to students, and broadens students’ understanding of local food systems.
This program is made possible by Food and Health Network, DCMO BOCES Food Service Management team, GCS Staff, and of course, New York State farms.
