Important Mask Update June 7, 2021 - Masks No Longer Required Outdoors

GCS Community,

According to Governor Cuomo’s update this afternoon, and the updated guidance we just received from the NYSED, New York State is no longer requiring masks to be worn by students and staff when outdoors, regardless of immunization status.  This includes recess, physed., athletics, outdoor events, high school graduation, etc.  The State is still requiring masks when indoors and on buses until further notice.

Per the guidance, students and staff may continue to wear a mask outdoors on a "voluntary basis" for the remaining days of school.  Greene Central School will continue the same protocols we have been following thus far, such as health screenings and sanitizing and wearing masks indoors based on the updated guidance. Masks will not be required outdoors

Thank you very much to our students, staff and families for the patience and support you’ve shown this year.  As always, I will provide updates as quickly as possible and if you have questions please contact the district office.
