District Wide Early Release Drill

Reminder from Greene Central School – Friday, October 20th is our annual Early Release drill. All students will be released 15 minutes early and there will be NO second trip. Please plan for students to arrive home early and arrange for child care for younger students as needed. There will be no holding students on campus – students may return after 3:30 p.m. for athletics or other activities. Thank you for your cooperation with this important drill.

Athletic Event Parking Update
The Greene Central School District, in an effort to eliminate a potentially dangerous situation during athletic events and after school practices, has installed medium sized rip rap along the driveway from the entrance of the stadium to the high school parking lot. We are asking that parents and spectators no longer use this area to park for events or to park and wait to pick up athletes. Parking in the area limits the drive to one lane and pedestrian safety is compromised. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.
Greene Middle School Goes Green!
Wouldn’t it be amazing if everyone grew their own vegetables? The teachers and students at the Greene Middle School have decided to make Greene a little greener. Our goal is to provide fresh food to our school and community that will supplement what the school currently provides.
Box Tops For Education to Support Our School image Box Tops For Education to Support Our School

Did you know that every Boxtop equals a dime? That’s right! When you clip a Boxtop and send it in with your child, our school earns 10 cents.

Here at the middle school we earn several hundred dollars a year through the Boxtop program. In the past, we have used this money to buy every student breakfast on the six days of testing for ELA and math state assessments. Some of the money helps to buy supplies for our Greene Day activities which are part of our character building and anti-bullying program. This year, we hope to continue these activities and add some new student incentives.

Welcome Back!

Dear Students and Parents

I hope you have enjoyed your summer, and spent lots of time with family and friends. School starts on Thursday, September 8th. The beginning of every school year is an exciting time. A tremendous amount of energy goes into this beginning, on the part of all of us – parents, students, teachers, and administrators. We all want to start it off right, to give students the best possible beginning to be successful.
