CELL PHONE POLICY
As further clarification of Policy #7410 Code of Conduct, Section VI. Prohibited Student Conduct regarding cell phones, the following applies:
Cell phones are not permitted in the Middle School/High School. Students may use an office phone if necessary. Parents may contact their children by calling the appropriate office. High School students only may use their cell phones after 8th period, if not participating in an academic 9th period class.
The procedure for a student caught using a cell phone in school, during the school day, and the consequences are as follows: First Offense: Warning – Student may pick up the cell phone from the office at the end of the day. Second Offense: Parent Pick Up – Parent must come in and pick up the cell phone at the end of the day. Third Offense: ½ day I.S.S. – Student will serve a ½ day in the A.L.C. room and parent must come in and pick up the cell phone at the end of the day. Fourth Offense: Full Day I.S.S. – Student will serve a full day in the A.L.C. room and parent must come in and pick up the cell phone at the end of the day. Subsequent Offense(s): Out of School Suspension – Student will be sent home and parent must come in and pick up the cell phone at the end of the day.
Any student, who refuses to turn in their cell phone when asked by a staff member, will be suspended out of school for insubordination. |
