Welcome to 6th grade English!!!

Welcome to 6th grade English!!!
English is one half of the ELA component (with reading being the other component).  We are very fortunate here at Greene to be able to provide your 6th grade child with 80 minutes of ELA a day, as opposed to the normal 40 minutes.  This year in English will be spent taking English skills that have been previously learned in the past and expanding on those skills to create advanced readers and writers.  We will spend a lot of time on the basics of the English language such as grammar, vocabulary, expanded sentences, essays, and research.  As a side note, I also teach one section of 6th grade social studies and an ELA lab. I'm looking forward to the great year ahead!
